Zones: 5-9. Small stature upright tree with leaves that are amazing to look at. Imagine soft blue-green leaves with creamy white margins tinged with pink. Tiny (about 1½ inch) palmate leaves appear to undulate with wavy growth. Thus, the "Butterfly" effect. We grow ours in-ground on Maple Ridge of our Garden Railway. We trim back long shoots as needed (about twice a year) for a 3 foot height. In the display garden it is untrimmed untrimmed to 6-10 feet (leaves stay small).
