Zones: 4-8. An easy to grow succulent that is as popular as our mosses. Dark green foliage on ¼ inch needle-like stubs on 1-3 inch stems. Yellow star flowers in summer. It is our major understory plant of the forests of our railroad. Sun to partial shade. Well drained soil. It is quite condensed and compact in the container, compared to growing in the ground at the Blacksmith Shop (see our Photo Gallery), where it spread out and also trails over the edge.
